Motherhood is like starring in your own reality show…except there’s no prize money, no commercial breaks, and the drama never ends. It’s like being the CEO of a never-closing business…except there are no off-hours, no sick days, and definitely no annual bonuses. Okay… okay.. Enough with my metaphors!

Between keeping tiny humans alive, maintaining a household, and possibly even working outside the home, the pressure is unreal. And yet, so many moms feel like they have to do it all alone.

Here’s the truth: Moms need help! Not just the occasional babysitting favor or a quick grocery run…REAL…meaningful, everyday support. The kind that lifts the weight off your shoulders and gives you back time, energy, and sanity.

But here’s the good news: your village doesn’t have to be a built-in network of family or lifelong friends. You can create it. That’s exactly what I did, and trust me, it changed everything.

So, if you’re running on fumes, feeling like you’re drowning in responsibilities, and wondering how other moms make it look so effortless…spoiler alert: they don’t. They have help. And you should, too. Let’s talk about how you can build your own village and take back control of your life.

What Does a “Village” Look Like?

When people hear the term “village,” they often picture an idyllic scene where grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends are readily available to help with childcare, meal prep, and household tasks. But for many of us, that is simply not reality.

The good news? Moms do need help—but it doesn’t have to come from family alone. You can build a village that fits your life, designed to support your unique needs and lifestyle.

For me…and some of my other clients,  that means hiring a few key people to help lighten the load:

1. House Cleaners

The first step in building my village was hiring house cleaners. As a busy mom, with a career, constantly cleaning up messes was draining my time and energy. Hiring professionals to clean my home every two weeks took an enormous mental load off my plate.

Instead of spending my precious time scrubbing floors and wiping countertops, I was able to focus on my family, work, and personal well-being.

2. Meal Prep Help

Meal prep was another major stressor. Between planning meals, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning up, I was spending nearly 12 hours a week just trying to feed my family.

That’s an entire part-time job! Hiring a meal prep chef was a game changer. Not only did it save time, but it also reduced daily decision fatigue and stress.

3. Nanny

My clients adore their kids, but they also need a moment to breathe. To focus on work, grab a coffee without racing back, or (let’s be real) use the bathroom alone for once.

That’s why they bring in a nanny or sitter. Whether it’s a few hours a week or full-time support, having someone they trust with their kids means they can actually be present, at work, on date nights, or just enjoying a little peace without someone yelling “Mom!” every 30 seconds.

4. House Manager

After having my second child, I realized that managing my household on top of everything else was becoming impossible. That’s when I hired a house manager.

She handles grocery shopping, organizing, running errands, and even walking the dog. Her support allows me to be more present with my family and feel less overwhelmed by the never-ending to-do list.

The Transformational Power of Support

Yes! We can agree that…Moms need help… but many of us don’t realize just how much help we actually need until we start outsourcing tasks. Once I built my village, I noticed major shifts in my life:

  • Less mental exhaustion: I no longer spent hours worrying about whether we had enough milk or if the laundry was piling up.
  • More presence with my kids: Instead of constantly feeling rushed or stressed, I had the energy to engage with my children in meaningful ways. Being present with my kids and husband is truly priceless!
  • A stronger marriage: Sharing the load brought more balance to my relationship, reducing resentment and frustration.

There is no shame in outsourcing. Our mothers and grandmothers may have done it all themselves, but times have changed. Moms today are balancing careers, household duties, parenting, and self-care. Expecting one person to manage it all is unrealistic and unfair.

Hiring help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re wise enough to recognize that you deserve support. A well-functioning village allows you to show up as the best version of yourself for your family and, most importantly, for you.

Your Family Deserves a Happy, Healthy Mom

At the end of the day, the people who matter most, your children, your spouse, and you…deserve a mom who isn’t drowning in exhaustion. Moms need help, and that help is available. Whether you start small by outsourcing one task or go all-in on building your dream team, taking steps to lighten your load will transform your life.

So, mom, what’s stopping you? It’s time to build your village and reclaim your peace. Because you—and your family, deserve it. Learn more about our starter kit here.
