General
Sage Haus supports families across the U.S. and Canada. We've helped parents in cities big and small — from San Francisco to Whistler to South Bend. As a fully remote organization, we have the best of the best working to find top talent nationwide and match you with the right fit for your unique needs.
Most agencies charge a placement fee based on a percentage of the hire’s salary — the higher the pay, the more you owe, with no ceiling. Sage Haus charges a flat fee split over two deposits, so you know your cost up front and can budget with confidence. Every placement is also backed by our 90-day match guarantee and ongoing support.
Two main paths. Hiring Services: white-glove private hiring and placement — matching you with house managers, family assistants, meal-prep chefs and more, and handling everything from the job description through onboarding. Home Systems: our proprietary Home Systems Digital Course & Playbook, which delivers best practices for household management that actually reduce your mental load.
About house managers
A house manager is your behind-the-scenes MVP — someone who keeps your home running smoothly by handling tasks like laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning, restocking supplies, coordinating vendors, and managing home organization projects. Think of them as a modern Mary Poppins who brings order and calm to your household.
They lighten your mental and physical load so you can focus on what matters most — whether that's work, quality time with your kids, or simply catching your breath. Many clients gain back 10–40+ hours per week, reduce family stress, and feel more present in their daily lives.
Some do — but not all. Many house managers are open to occasional childcare, like school pick-ups, supervising and playing with the kids after school, or filling in during core working hours. If the role is majority childcare, we recommend working with one of our trusted partner nanny agencies instead.
Rates vary based on your location, the responsibilities and qualifications required, and whether you're hiring part-time or full-time. In general, expect $25–$45/hour (or more) for experienced professionals. During our kickoff call, we'll discuss your budget and make recommendations for your local market.
The payment method is ultimately up to you, but most clients use a household payroll provider to set up direct deposit, withhold taxes, and stay compliant with employment laws. As part of our service, we walk you through everything you need to consider as a household employer.
No. Families hire anywhere from part-time (10–25 hours/week) to full-time, based on their priorities and budget.
