Two households. One list. One person holding it.
A house manager for a family caring for children and parents takes the running of your own home. The kids' calendar and your mother's appointments. Your fridge and your father's pharmacy. Pew's 2026 report put it plainly: many adults are sandwiched between roles, supporting both children and parents, and the load lands mostly on women. A house manager takes the running of your own household so the hours you have go to the people who need you.
We'll look at both households' weeks.

Your household, handled
The hours you get back go to the people who need you most.
Pew, Oct 2026: 40% of working women helping an aging parent say it has hurt their emotional well-being.
- 10,000+ families supported
- 90-day guarantee
- Flat fee, never a % of salary

What people are saying
Families on what came off their plate.
“The mental load I've been able to release is indescribable. Our home runs smoothly, appointments and schedules are handled, and I finally feel present with my family instead of overwhelmed by a never ending to-do list.”
Your household first
The house manager owns the running of your home: meals, laundry, supplies, the kids' logistics. That's the part that can be handed off cleanly.
Capacity for theirs
The hours and the headspace you get back are what the appointments, the calls and the visits need. The role can include errands for a parent nearby.
Flat fee
Not a percentage of salary. One fee for the search, in two payments.
The gap
You can't hand off your parents. You can hand off your house.
Caring for a parent is yours. The pharmacy calls, the specialist appointments, the Sunday visits don't delegate well. What does delegate is everything in your own home that competes for the same hours.
What's on the list now
- Your children's school, activities, meals, laundry
- Your parent's appointments, prescriptions, bills, the house they're in
- Your job
- The admin for two households
- Nobody to hand any of it to
What the house manager takes
- The running of your home: meals, laundry, resets, supplies
- The children's logistics and pickups
- Vendors, returns, errands, the admin pile
- Errands for a parent nearby, if you want them in scope
- Hours and headspace back for the part only you can do
Parents moving in, or close by? Bring that to the call. It changes the scope.

Parent moving in?
The household gets bigger. So does the role.
A multigenerational home is a household-management job first: meals for more people, more appointments on the calendar, more supplies. The job description is written for the house you'll have.
Parent across the country?
Capacity is the gift.
When care is remote, what you need is time: for the calls, the visits, the flights. A house manager at home is where that time comes from.

The numbers
What two households' hours cost one person.
The calculator values your time and shows what your own household's running costs you now, next to a house manager at the hours you choose. The hours it returns are the ones your parent needs.
- The cost today, including your own time
- Hours you get back each week
- Return on the search at one and two years
How the calculator works
- 1What you pay today for sitters, delivery, cleaners and errands, plus the hours you put in yourself
- 2A house manager at the hours and rate you choose, with W-2 costs if you want them
- 3How you find them: a flat fee, an agency percentage, or your own time
- 4The return on the search at one and two years, and the hours you get back

Questions families ask
Before you book.
Can the house manager help with my parent?
Errands, pickups, meal drops and household tasks for a parent nearby can be scoped into the role. Personal or medical care is a different profession; we'll say so on the call.

What does a house manager actually do all day?
The household: the daily reset, laundry, kitchen and meal prep, groceries and supplies, the calendar, vendors, errands and returns, the children's logistics.

How many hours do families start with?
Most start at 15 to 25 hours a week and grow.
What will I pay the house manager?
A role that includes errands for a parent nearby may run a few more hours a week. Typically $25 to $50 an hour depending on scope and location, higher in New York and the Bay Area. They're a W-2 household employee; we point you to a payroll partner that handles taxes and pay stubs. Our own fee is covered on the call.

How do you vet candidates?
Vetting is the same whether the role includes errands for a parent nearby or not. Regional hiring specialists source from local boards and our certified talent pool. Every candidate is screened and interviewed by a human before you meet them. References, a background check and an employment agreement come before any offer, and a one-time re-match is available within 90 days.
How long does it take?
If a parent's move or a surgery date sets the timeline, we work back from it. About four to six weeks from an approved job description to your first candidates. If you have a date in mind, we work back from it.
What if it doesn't work out?
If needs change as a parent's do, the guarantee covers the change. A one-time re-match with up to two new candidates inside the first 90 days, no extra fee, provided you did the onboarding call and the six-week check-in with us.
