Six apps, four services, and you're still the one running it.
One house manager replaces the patchwork of services you manage today. Grocery delivery, meal kits, a cleaner, a sitter app, wash-and-fold, TaskRabbit for the shelf. Each one solves a slice. None of them knows the others exist, and you are the integration layer. Add up what you pay them and the hours you spend managing them, and put it next to one house manager who owns the whole.
Run the calculator first; it adds up the patchwork for you.

One person
Restocked before it runs out, by someone who noticed.
One house manager and a weekly check-in, instead of six apps and services.
- 10,000+ families supported
- 90-day guarantee
- Flat fee, never a % of salary

What people are saying
Families who replaced the patchwork.
“From finding a house manager to helping us implement home systems, this experience has been a game-changer. I finally feel like I'm not doing everything myself.”
Add it up
The calculator takes every service you pay for today, by the week, month or year, and puts the total next to a house manager at the hours you choose.
One owner
The groceries, the meals, the laundry, the small repairs and the restocking stop being six vendors and become one person's job.
Your time too
Ordering, scheduling, chasing and checking each service is work. The calculator counts those hours at your rate.
The comparison
A patchwork of services, next to one person.
Each service does its slice well. The trouble is the seams: nobody notices you're out of dish soap, nobody puts the delivery away, nobody knows the plumber is coming. Here is the patchwork, line by line.
| A patchwork of services | House Manager | |
|---|---|---|
| Groceries | Instacart or Amazon Fresh: you order, you put away, you notice what's missing. | Keeps the list, shops or orders, puts it away, restocks before it runs out. |
| Meals | DoorDash or meal kits: you still decide, cook or wait. | Plans the week, preps or cooks, the kitchen stocked for it. |
| Cleaning | A cleaner every week or two; the daily reset in between is yours. | Daily reset and laundry; the cleaner can stay for the deep clean. |
| Childcare gaps | A sitter app, often a different person each time. | The after-school window and pickups, scoped into the role. |
| Errands and repairs | TaskRabbit, the handyman, the returns pile: all booked by you. | Owns the list, books, lets in, checks and pays. |
| Who manages it | You. | The house manager. You get a weekly check-in. |

Cleaners twice a week — and nobody running the whole.
Two full-time working parents with heavy travel and a blended household, the children with them half of each week and old enough to need logistics rather than childcare.

The Brackley family · Dual-Executives
Cleaners, a dog walker, a virtual assistant — and still nobody at the centre.

The Ambleside family · Dual-Physicians
Plenty of help. Nobody owning the rest.

The Farrowmere family · Entrepreneurs
Nothing was broken. That was the point.
A founder running a ten-person company from the suburbs, with a household that worked — filters changed, closets orderly, gifts bought — because she was the one keeping it that way.

More from our families
What changes after the hire.
“She has made the most incredible muffins and dinners. She has taken care of so many things on my to do list.”
“Things that caused us personal guilt and angst when we didn't get them done, or got them done poorly … are now done almost in the background. … We are more relaxed and present people.”
“Laundry and dishes ACTUALLY get done.”
Questions families ask
Before you book.
Is one house manager really cheaper than the services?
It depends on what you pay today, and the management hours come off your plate either way. The calculator adds up every service you pay for and your own time and puts it next to a house manager at the hours you choose. Try it with your own numbers.
Free resource: the calculator
Do we cancel the cleaner?
Up to you. Many families keep a deep clean and let the house manager own the daily reset and laundry. Some drop it. The role is scoped around what you keep.
What does a house manager actually do all day?
The household: the daily reset, laundry, kitchen and meal prep, groceries and supplies, the calendar, vendors, errands and returns.
Free resource: The mental load, explained and time and cost calculator
How many hours do families start with?
Most start at 15 to 25 hours a week. If the services you're replacing cover a lot, the role can start higher.
What will I pay the house manager?
Put the wage next to what the services cost today; the calculator does it for you. Typically $25 to $50 an hour depending on scope and location, higher in New York and the Bay Area. They're a W-2 household employee; we point you to a payroll partner that handles taxes and pay stubs. Our own fee is covered on the call.
How do you vet candidates?
Every candidate is vetted by a person, unlike the next face from a sitter app. Regional hiring specialists source from local boards and our certified talent pool. Every candidate is screened and interviewed by a human before you meet them. References, a background check and an employment agreement come before any offer, and a one-time re-match is available within 90 days.
How long does it take?
Services stay in place until the house manager starts. About four to six weeks from an approved job description to your first candidates. If you have a date in mind, we work back from it.
What if it doesn't work out?
If the first hire doesn't replace the patchwork the way you hoped, the guarantee covers the change. A one-time re-match with up to two new candidates inside the first 90 days, no extra fee, provided you did the onboarding call and the six-week check-in with us.
My partner thinks the services are fine.
Run the calculator together: every service plus your management hours, next to one person. Then bring them to the call.

Do you cover my area?
Delivery and sitter apps cover cities; a house manager search covers wherever you are. Families across the United States and Canada, with regional specialists who know the local market. Rural and small-town searches take a little longer; tell us where you are on the call.
