Our average search takes 4–6 weeks from kickoff to initial interviews. If you have a specific start date in mind, we recommend reaching out at least 8-10 weeks in advance so we can align with your timeline.
Rates vary based on your location, the responsibilities of the role, experience of the candidate and whether you're hiring part-time or full-time support. In general, you can expect to pay $25–$45/hour. During our kickoff call, we’ll discuss your budget, make recommendations based on your local market, and help you define a competitive rate that aligns with your needs.
Sage Haus supports families across the U.S. and Canada. We’ve helped parents in cities big and small—from San Francisco to Whistler to South Bend. As a fully remote organization, we’ve got the best of the best working to find top talent nationwide and match you with the best fit for your unique needs, no matter where you live.
Yep. We stand by our placements. If your household employee leaves within 60 days of their start date—for any reason—we’ll find you a replacement at no additional cost. Peace of mind, guaranteed.
They lighten your mental and physical load so you can focus on what matters most—whether that’s work, quality time with your kids, or simply catching your breath. Many clients gain back 10-40+ hours per week, reduce family stress, and feel more present in their daily lives.
Some do—but not all. Many House Managers are open to occasional childcare, like school pick-ups, supervising and playing with the kids after school, or filling in during core working hours. If this particular role is a majority childcare, we recommend working with one of our trusted agencies to consider a Nanny. During your kickoff consultation, we’ll help you define what kind of support you need and build a job description that reflects it.
While the payment method is ultimately up to you, most clients choose to use a household payroll provider to set up direct deposit, withhold taxes, and stay compliant with employment laws. As part of our service, we’ll walk you through everything you need to consider as a household employer—from payroll and taxes to liability and insurance—so you can feel confident and prepared.
Because you’re busy—and finding the right person is a full-time job. We take the guesswork out of hiring by creating custom job descriptions, vetting candidates, conducting interviews, checking references, and guiding onboarding. You don’t need to waste time on unqualified applicants or start from scratch. We’ve done this hundreds of times—and we’re really good at it.
Not at all! Many families hire part-time House Managers (10–25 hours/week) while others need full-time help. We’ll work with you to define the ideal schedule based on your priorities and budget.
Yes! If you’ve already found someone great, but want help setting them (and yourself) up for success, we’ve got you. Our Home Systems Digital Course and Hire a House Manager Starter Kit are perfect for families who don’t need full recruiting but still want to formalize the role, clarify expectations, and build repeatable systems. We’ll help you turn a good hire into a great one—with tools to maximize their impact and reduce your mental load.
Absolutely. Above and beyond the onboarding guidance that is included in our recruiting services, many families want to establish structure and support to make sure things run smoothly long-term. That’s where our Home Systems Digital Course comes in—it’s packed with coaching videos, proven frameworks, and ready-to-use templates to help you and your new hire start strong, stay aligned, and build sustainable systems together.
Sage Haus includes a criminal background check for all placements, conducted after a conditional offer is made and in accordance with state laws. We partner with PFC Caregiving & Household Screening, a trusted provider specializing in caregiver and household employee screenings. Our standard Basic-Plus package includes identity verification, a multijurisdictional criminal records search (including sex offender registries and OFAC lists), and a county-level court search covering the candidate’s current residence. This provides a strong level of due diligence for most household roles. If you’d like to add screenings like motor vehicle reports, drug testing, or employment verification, we’re happy to coordinate that—just note that any add-ons will be invoiced separately.
You don’t need another meditation app, time management planner, or “ life hack.” You need an extra set of hands. If you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or one more group text away from losing it—this is for you.
Let’s find the help you need to reclaim your time and sanity.
